The story behind The Dainty Co.
I never planned to start a flower preservation studio.
But I couldn't stop thinking about what happened to wedding flowers after the day was over.
As a marriage celebrant, I had a front-row seat to hundreds of weddings. I watched couples spend months choosing the perfect bouquet, carry it down the aisle, hold it close during the ceremony and treasure it throughout the day.
Then, almost every time…
Those same flowers quietly disappeared.
Left on chairs.
Sitting in a vase.
Or simply fading over the days that followed.
I kept thinking...
What if your bouquet didn't have to disappear?
Not into a box.
Not forgotten in a cupboard.
But transformed into something you could see, love and connect with every single day.
That question became The Dainty Co.
It was never just about preserving flowers.
When I first started, I thought flower preservation was exactly that.
Preserving flowers.
It didn't take long to realise it was about something much bigger.
Because people aren't trusting me with flowers.
They're trusting me with one of the few physical pieces of their wedding they'll keep forever.
That changes everything.
Beautiful preservation isn't about fitting every flower into a frame.
It's about knowing what belongs.
What needs rebuilding.
What deserves to become the hero.
And sometimes...
What can quietly step aside.
Because more flowers don't automatically make better artwork.
Thoughtful artistic decisions do.
Every bouquet is different.
Every flower presses differently.
Every story deserves its own approach.
That's why no two pieces we create are ever the same.
We're not simply preserving bouquets.
We're creating artwork that captures the feeling of your wedding day.
Why trust us with flowers that can never be replaced.
Every bouquet that arrives at our studio carries memories that can never be recreated.
That's a responsibility we never take lightly.
Behind every finished frame are hundreds of tiny decisions.
Which flowers become the hero.
Which petals can be rebuilt.
How to balance colour, texture and movement.
How to create artwork that still feels unmistakably like your bouquet.
That's the part clients rarely see.
But it's the part that makes all the difference.
Every artwork is thoughtfully designed in collaboration with you, because you'll be the one living with it for years to come.
Our job isn't simply to preserve your bouquet.
It's to create something you'll still love every time you walk past it decades from now.

Kristie
FOUNDER & CREATIVE LEAD
You'll usually find me standing back from a frame, moving the same flower a few millimetres...
Then stepping back.
Then moving it again.
Because sometimes the smallest decisions make the biggest difference.
My favourite part of this work isn't pressing flowers.
It's watching a bouquet become artwork that still feels unmistakably like your wedding day.
I believe your flowers deserve more than preservation.
They deserve thoughtful artistic curation, genuine collaboration and a place in your home for years to come.
